Gift cards

There is a very easy way how you can create gift cards for you customers using Eastbiz Loyalty software.

How?

Instead of printing gift certificates or issuing gift cards (both can be quite expensive) you have two easy solutions available.

Just use existing loyalty cards and load each card with points.

  • When you set up your loyalty program you will decide the name of your program currency. It can be miles, points or any name you choose. It can be just dollars if you prefer simplicity.
  • In case you use points decide what will be an exchange rate. For example 10 points = $1. It can be any exchange rate you want and it is set up through your admin window.
  • Load card with the corresponding amount of points. For example you want to give someone $10 gift card. Just use their card and load it with 100 points. That way your customer can use the loyalty card use the money for a purchase.

Another solution is to use Gift certificates

  • Eastbiz Loyalty software allows printing of so called coupons. You can generate coupons directly from your admin center.
  • Set number of points, number of coupons, text and click generate. Our system will generate coupons (each with a unique code).
  • Mail or distribute the coupons to your customers. Customers can login to their accounts and redeem the paper coupons for points.
  • This is very easy replacement for Gift Certificates.

This seems to be a nice tool.

Does your tool work in offline mode i.e if the store is cut off from its central / corporate and if I want to redeem some points at store – will we be able to achieve this ?

    Regards
    Vasu

It works if you have Internet connection, because the software runs on server (hosting). If you cannot connect to internet you cannot access the loyalty software.

Can you provide more information? I don’t have any solid questions at this time, however I was wondering if I can have other businesses attached to the software I am using. For $1000? Are there any other hidden costs? Do you take an additional cut? What term will the $1000 cover?
    Where are you located?
How long have you been doing loyalty software?

I guess I do have questions right now

No other cut. Flat fee price for software license. No hidden cost. Development team is located in Czech Republic. We operate the biggest web based loyalty program in Czech Republic – http://www.fazole.cz. The business started in 1999.

I want to establish a loyalty and gift card program for my town, where any of the participating merchants can accept the value of the gift card and assign points for cash purchases. Here are my questions:

    1) Do the merchants have to have an Internet connection open to check the current value of the gift card? Or can it be checked through their credit card terminal?

    2) Are transactions posted immediately? Or is it possible that a person with a $20 gift card could make a purchase using the entire value of the card and immediately go to another merchant and use the gift card again for another purchase?

  6. John Vanhara5.25 on 19-01-2010

They will have to have internet. Otherwise it will not work. Even the credit card terminal is connecting to Internet. Yes, transactions are real time.

How do you scan barcode on back of loyalty card? Do you sale barcode equipment to use with software?

  8. John19.03 on 09-02-2010

You can use any bar code reader (or just type the number manually)

It doesn’t matter if you call it swipes, points, miles, purchases… it is the same thing.

You can offer reward if someone buys 10 coffees and will get one free after that.

You can create reward if someone earns 10,000 points… or transactions.

In your case you will offer one point (swipe, mile, etc.) per transaction (swipe in your case). So if someone accumulates 1000 points that will mean they did 10,000 transactions with you.

The program I work for would like to create a recognition program for volunteers who give 200 hours of service a year.
We would like to work with local businesses to create a discount card that would be activated when they reached the hours required by the program. Would a program work for something like that? Every business would be offering different discounts.
What type of card would be used with this type of system? A barcode card? How does it work?

You can create campaigns of earning points for your volunteers and offer a certain number of points for every hour worked. For example you would give 5 points for one hour worked. When a volunteer gets 1000 points (=200 hours) you can offer them something. Now, for the reduction is a bit more complicated. Our system is intended to work in the following way: your clients(vlounteers) earn points according to their interaction vith you (hours worked in this case) and you offer them the reduction/gift. If you want your clients to access third party reductions/gifts, then you will have to agree with the local business to offer you reduction/gift vouchers which you can give to your clients once they’ve reached the necessary number of points. For that you can create campaigns for spending the points and the volunteers can choose from different reductions you might offer (which may have different „price“ in points)
And yes, the cards are barcode cards (if you choose to have them) otherwise you can operate only with e-mails too. In case you decide to have the barcode cards, you will need extra tools: barcode reader maybe a card printer too (if you want to generate the cards yourself – see http://www.eastbiz.net/loyalty-cards/ ). Each client is identified using the corresponding barcode and the system manages their points earnings/spendings.

It will work in those cases as well, only that you need a little extra work to link the pages from the end of the surveys or the photo uploading to the rewarding system. This has been already successfully implemented in http://www.fazole.cz, where the clients can earn points for visiting specific web-pages. Unfortunately, for the moment we have only a czech version, but we can cooperate to set up the application for your needs.

    hi
i m looking to your system and have a questions:

    - possibility to have a full report in csv about the redeem orders done by customers including selected customer data (needed in case of gift shipment to home).

    thanks

  14. cosmin6.27 on 01-09-2010

We do not have implemented yet such a functionality, but customer details in csv would be easy to provide in case someone would need it.

Drea asked (above) „How do you scan barcode on back of loyalty card?“ You answered „You can use any bar code reader (or just type the number manually)“. My questions is… what do I attach the barcode reader to? Into what equipment would I type the number? Is this for use with a cash register? A computer terminal? A credit card terminal? I’m confused… :) Help!!

  16. cosmin2.16 on 04-03-2011

Since the software is installed on a web-server, the barcode scanner can be used with any device that supports a standard web-browser and, of course, the scanner itself. This can generally be a computer, but also the type of cash-desks that supports web browsing.
